How do you describe your photographic style?

I work in a very journalistic way. Yes I will pose you a little bit during the portraits but not too much. Most of the time it will be to get you into better light. Other then that I really do believe in capturing the real moments and will do my best to work in an unobtrusive way.

What about your editing style?

Post processing images is mandatory these days with RAW files. I don’t use any presets or filters or follow what’s “in style” at the moment. These trends tend to come and go. Rather I have developed my own editing process which is often times very simple and works well for me.

Where are you based?

I have just recently (end of 2018) moved to Vancouver BC. Prior to this I lived in Toronto. My wife and I decided to move to Vancouver because, well it’s one of the most beautiful places in our opinion and we love spending time in the surrounding mountains. However, I still spend a lot of time in Toronto for work and just to hang out with friends.

What gear do you use?

I shoot with professional Nikon gear. I’m very risk averse and will usually have a backup for a backup. Occasionally I use a medium format film camera (Mamiya RZ67) during the portraits. I just love the final product that it delivers, however it’s not always practical and it only comes out if time allows.

How many images will we receive?

I don’t promise a specific number of images. It really depends on how many hours I’m shooting, if there is a second photographer with me. To give you a very rough idea, for a 8 hour wedding I will usually deliver 500-700 edited images? Less is more.

Do you take family portraits?

Absolutely. Just because you don’t see them on my website doesn’t mean I don’t do them.

Do you only Photograph weddings?

No, I also shoot editorial and commercial/advertising work. You can check it out here . I do however really love shooting wedding. No other event gives such an intimate perspective into someones life and to be able to document something like that, truly is amazing. I believe that to photograph a wedding well you need different photographic skills and the variety of projects I get to work on makes me a better wedding photographer.

Do you travle for weddings?

I have been really fortunate and have had the opportunity to shoot in some amazing places all over Canada and abroad. If you are thinking of having a destination wedding or are in a different country please get in touch with me and we can chat in more detail about it.

How do we book you for our wedding?

Get in touch with me and ideally we’ll meet up in person or set up a phone call. To hold a date I do need a 50% retainer and a signed contract. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding date.
